This is where it starts

I have taken the plunge. Like many, I have been reflecting on what to do next over the last few months. The last 18 months have been a bit of a roller coaster for me and I now feel ready to focus again on where I can help the most.

Having spent many years working for social enterprises I have often found myself in a bit of unique, and sometimes isolated position within the organisation. As a project manager with HR responsibility and the main person reporting to the Board this has often left me in a place of conflict (sometimes my own rather than just organisationally) and often with no-one to talk to about the issues who understand what I am facing and is not too involved.

When I have managed to find that independent person it has been a real eye opener and sometimes completely changed my view and enabled me to separate the practical from the personal.

I now want to be able to help people in a similar position – not through offering advice or presenting them with solutions, but by helping individuals to help themselves to find those solutions.

And so, my journey begins.
